John William McClane Papers 1941-1945

John William McClane was a U. S. Army navigator in Europe during World War II. These memoirs by McClane, "The War Years: World War II as experienced by an Army Air Force navigator," describe in great detail his arrival in Europe in 1941, his missions with the 44th Bomb Group, and his return from Europe in 1945 and discharge from the military. The manuscript was issued in four parts from 1985-1989. The text was printed from a Word Processor file, with illustrative material photocopied.
